As parents and caregivers we play an important and active role in nurturing the growing and developing brain of our children. Saint Clare's offers the Safe Start program, which is a seven (7) week series of 90-minute sessions that offer parents the opportunity to learn how to model the behaviors they want to see in their children. The program is ideal for parents and caregivers of children 0-8 years old. All of our sessions are offered at no cost and are open to all in the community; we strongly encourage both parents to attend sessions if possible.

Sometimes siblings don't share their parent's excitement about the new baby. This Saturday morning program helps prepare youngsters age three to eight for the new baby's arrival. Parents will also learn ways to minimize and deal with jealousy and hurt feelings. A movie, story and a lively exchange of questions and answers are included. The class costs $25.

The Auxiliary of Denville and Boonton Township will host a book signing with local authorJoseph Anthony,who published his first book at age 21, An Uneaten Breakfast: Collected Stories and poems, which will be available during the book signing. Now, 23, Mr. Anthony is currently writing his second book, a collection of short stories chronicling the life of a self-destructive college student.
