VIVA LAS VEGAS! GALA RAISES
$250,000 FOR SAINT CLARE'S
HEALTH SYSTEM
Annual Event Honored Saint Clare’s
Medical Staff
On
Friday, April 28, 2006, more than 320 guests gathered at the Skylands
at Randolph to celebrate Saint Clare’s 2006 Gala, Viva Las
Vegas! – a tribute to the 1960s-era gambling
mecca – and to raise funds for Saint Clare’s Health
System.
The
guests enjoyed the music of Harbor Lights as they strolled the
extensive silent auction, which included almost 40 items ranging
from tickets to sporting events and Broadway shows to exquisite
jewelry and get-a-ways to exotic resorts. For those wishing to
try their hand at games of chance, there was a “casino” complete
with blackjack tables, craps, roulette and various types of poker.
The highlight of the evening was a visit from Elvis (Donny Edward)
and Ann-Margret (Lori Russo), the stars of the 1964 hit movie, Viva Las
Vegas!, who welcomed guests into the ballroom by
performing the movie’s theme song.

In addition to the fun, music, food and auctions, the 2006 Gala
also included the presentation of Saint Clare’s Foundation’s
2006 Leadership Award to the Saint Clare’s medical
staff. Receiving the award on behalf of the physicians was Medical
Staff President Dr. Edward J. McManus. In addition to honoring
the medical staff as a whole for its service to Saint Clare’s
and to the community at large, several physicians were also cited
for their individual contributions. Receiving Lifetime Achievement
Awards were Dr. Augustus Baker of Hopatcong, NJ, Dr.
Arthur B. David of Mendham, NJ, and Dr.
Robert R. Siroty of Randolph,
NJ. Recognized for Outstanding Volunteerism were Dr.
Donald Allegra of Randolph, NJ, Dr.
Alexander Gellman of Rockaway,
NJ, Dr. Arsenio Manlangit of Boonton, NJ, Dr.
Sandy Waran of Morristown,
NJ, and Dr. Robert B. Zufall of Mountain Lakes, NJ.
Net
proceeds from the event were $250,000, and will be used to support
the many services and programs of Saint Clare’s Health
System.
